Bristow’s journey as a performer began remarkably early. According to Hallmark, she started acting at age six, appearing in commercials, television projects, and films before taking an unexpected turn at age twelve. She was accepted into Canada’s National Ballet School and put acting on hold while completing the professional training program. After graduating in 2008, she returned to acting and continued her studies through programs including the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and work with acting coach Larry Moss.

That background helps explain some of the polish she brings to her performances. Bristow has never seemed interested in simply playing a collection of familiar romantic-comedy traits. She has hosted Wildlife Quest, a project created, written, and produced with her family for the National Geographic library.
