Amanda Schull and Brennan Elliott Make the Chemistry Feel Effortless
Amanda Schull brings a polished but emotionally accessible presence to Abby. Her career has moved comfortably between television drama, film and Hallmark productions. Before Marry Go Round, she was known for roles including Katrina Bennett on Suits, the Syfy series 12 Monkeys, and several Hallmark projects, including One Summer, Project Christmas Wish and Love, Once and Always. She also made her film debut as the lead in Center Stage, a role that drew on her background as a ballet dancer.
That background helps explain part of what makes Schull so effective in romantic stories. She can play a character who appears composed while still allowing the audience to see the uncertainty underneath. Abby is someone whose future seems carefully organized, yet Luke’s return challenges the certainty she thought she had.
Brennan Elliott is equally well suited to Luke. The actor has become a familiar presence for Hallmark viewers, and his performance here gives Luke a combination of confidence, warmth and emotional history. Hallmark officially lists Elliott as Luke opposite Schull’s Abby, placing the two actors at the center of the film’s romantic appeal.
Together, they create the kind of pairing that makes a romantic comedy easy to settle into. There is humor in their interactions, but there is also a sense that something meaningful exists beneath the teasing and awkwardness. That balance is important. Without it, the romance could feel like a simple exercise in nostalgia. With it, the audience gets the feeling that these characters are discovering one another again.
That is perhaps the most satisfying element of Marry Go Round: it treats second chances as something more complicated than simply returning to the past. Abby and Luke have grown, changed and built separate lives. The appeal comes from seeing what happens when those two histories unexpectedly collide.
