With Hope Valley: 1874, Hallmark takes that familiar feeling and turns the clock back 36 years, inviting viewers to see the earliest days of the community that would eventually become the Hope Valley they know from When Calls the Heart.
Season One feels different from simply revisiting a familiar television world. Instead of relying entirely on nostalgia, the series creates its own identity through characters who are still discovering what this frontier settlement can become. At the center of that beginning is Rebecca Clarke, played by Bethany Joy Lenz.
